The average music festival lasts three days – which is a lot of dancing, eating and drinking, late nights and not-so-perfect skincare. Here are our tips for the pre-event body prep and the restful, post-event wind-down.
GRACE BELGRAVIA, LONDON

For pre-festival fine-tuning, the women-only Grace Belgravia is an exclusive haven of fitness, nutrition and spa treatments. Body-honing programmes include yoga, reformer Pilates, high intensity and barre – making sure you’re standing taller, lighter and stronger. Those in the know make use of the Body Revolution programme, which uses DNA Fit testing to create a tailored exercise regimen and healthy eating plan – then provides 24/7 support throughout.
AWAY SPA, LONDON

When prepping for your summer festival, why settle for merely being bronzed when you can have leaner legs, chiselled abs and more defined arms? That’s where James Harknett, and his bespoke tanning clinic at Away Spa at W Hotel London, comes in. While James’ menu covers both women and men and offers a range of flattering hues, the real magic comes from how the spray is applied to the body, slimming and defining wherever required with additional layers of colour. The end effect? A swimwear-ready body that looks its absolute best.
BODHIMAYA, AIX-EN-PROVENCE AND LONDON

Once the festival ends, it’s well worth heading to a wellness retreat for some relaxation, restoration… and perhaps a little detox. Bodhimaya runs residential wellbeing programmes in two locations: a grand West Sussex country house and Château la Coste, in the South of France. The latter’s 28 villa suites mean it’s possible to get the experience of a private treatment suite.
JUS JUS, BRUSSELS

When Tomorrowland comes to a close and you’re back at your hotel, make a pit stop with Jus Jus, who deliver their cold-pressed juice to central Brussels. While a short juice cleanse is a great way to prep for a festival, when the party’s over it’s definitely a must for replenishing all those nutrients you might have missed out on during the revelry. The cleverest juice drinkers plump for cold-pressed as the heated approach destroys almost all the ingredients’ nutritional benefits, such as vitamins and enzymes.
SHA CENTRE, ALICANTE

Whether it’s for weight loss, anti-ageing or a post-Primavera Sound detox, all treatments and programmes at the Sha Centre in Alicante, Spain, are underpinned by The Sha Method, a holistic approach that incorporates natural therapy techniques, inner balance, aesthetic medicine, fitness, cognitive stimulation and long-term education. Its 6000m2 wellness centre with clinic – and fitness area with yoga, meditation and Pilates studios, gym and paddle court – is complemented by outdoor relaxation facilities including a hydrotherapy circuit, lounger terraces and outdoor infinity pool.
