Half-term has just begun and filling your little one’s days can be an arduous task in and of itself. Should you find yourself checked into The Connaught, a very special culinary masterclass for your little budding chefs will be taking place. “Le Petit Chef” will be hosted in association with two Michelin-starred restaurant Hélène Darroze at The Connaught. One of the world’s top chefs, Darroze is known for her obsession with exceptional ingredients. In 2015 she was named the Veuve Cliquot World’s Best Female Chef.

Armed with their very own personalised cooking apron, chef’s hat and wooden spoon, your petits gourmands will learn to make a crispy and profoundly fruity crumble dessert a la Darroze. Darroze grew up in the south-west of France where she spent hours watching her grandmother cook. This inspired her desire to see all children get involved with cooking.
Guided by Hélène Darroze at The Connaught’s pastry chef, the young pupils will use the freshest pineapples, strawberries, apples, bananas and nectarines to customise a crumble of their own making. Once the crumbles are baking, the students will join their parents in the restaurant for a much deserved gourmet meal. The crumble can be enjoyed in the dining room or in the room en famille over a pre-selected foodie film.

The class is an hour long and takes place at 11am (before lunch) or at 5.30pm (before dinner). “Le Petit Chef” masterclass will run through Spring 2017. For more information on this offer, please contact your Insignia Personal Assistant.
