The newly christened La Biennale Paris (formerly known as Biennale des Antiquaires), the annual antiques and art fair held at the Grand Palais in Paris in September is taking place from 11-17 September 2017. This ultra-exclusive art event attracts arts lovers from all over the world who have a genuine appreciation and passion for beautiful objects that each tell their own story. This year marks the first time La Biennale will be held annually since its founding in 1962
This year ninety-four exhibitors will display their wares — from antiques to jewellery, clocks to Pop Art. By art fair standards, that is still intimate. The Biennale is aiming for a more international feel over all moving forwards. Around a third of the exhibitors are from outside France. Traditionally, the fair has had a strong French flavour. Organised by the Syndicat National des Antiquaires it has symbolised the elegance of French art and the history of French art.

“We have the best galleries in Paris, but we also want important galleries from all over the world,” said Mathias Ary Jan, the president of the National Federation of Antiques Dealers, known as the SNA, which organizes the fair.
The Biennale’s annual signature event for V.I.P.s is a dinner for 900 under the Grand Palais’s barrel-vaulted glass roof. It promises to have that je ne sais quoi.
The Place Vendôme jewellers—Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron and Chaumet—will return to La Biennale in 2018.
