With the Montreal Grand Prix finally upon us there has never been a better time to cover the best of Canada’s most eclectic city. As perhaps the most bilingual and diverse metropolis in the great white north, Montreal has much to offer in the way of gastronomy, culture and, of course, hospitality.
Here are our picks for the very best places to Eat, Stay and Play:
Eat—Le Bremner
It’s an interesting fact that Michelin only gives out stars to cities that appear in its guides. As such, Montreal does not officially have any Michelin-starred restaurants. However, that doesn’t mean the eateries it’s home to are not some of the best in the world. Perhaps one of the most celebrated is Le Bremner. Led by Iron Chef winner Chuck Hughes, Le Bremner’s menu is organized into sections: Chilled Items, From Outside, Bread & Chees, From the Stovetop, From the Broiler, Vegetables, Desserts. Comfort food is the name of the game at Le Bremner.

Stay—Loews Hotel Vogue
About a decade ago when I was a student in Montreal, I was invited to a Black Eyed Peas concert at the Bell Centre. They were at their zenith of fame at the time and I managed to get tickets through my housemate who had a relative that worked for the band directly. Besides sitting front row, we were also invited for drinks with the band at their hotel lobby. The hotel was none other than the five-star establishment, Loews Hotel Vogue. Located centrally in Montreal, the property continues to bring a minimalist design sensibility together with comfort. Featuring 16 suites, a 24-hour fitness centre, multilingual staff and a 24-hour concierge, even the most discerning guests will find themselves at home.

Play—Buonanotte
Offering the crème-de-la-crème of F1 parties in Montreal, Buonanotte is the ultimate hedonistic supper club party to be at on Sunday night. Featuring popular LA DJ Vice, the party is certain to involve Buena’s legendary cuisine, fabulous cocktails and the most beautiful people in Montreal.
