Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London is one of the most iconic properties in the British capital. A landmark in Knightsbridge, presently undergoing a contemporary facelift by Joyce Wang Studio and is preparing to unveil its whole new look over the coming months.

This renovation ushers in a new era for the luxury property. On entering the lobby, guests are greeted by a striking glass chandelier in the shape of a blooming flower bud. It is suspended over the lounge area and brings the view of Hyde Park into the space. The traditional finishes, desks and artwork are all inspired by nature.

The rooms and suites are equally inspired by Hyde Park featuring elements of classic design and Art Deco trimmings influenced by the Edwardian building’s heritage. This contrast is complemented by contemporary touches including leather-tufted headboards, state-of-the-art in-room amenities and hand-tufted rugs.

Suites pay particular attention to detail with silk wallpaper, geometrically patterned ceilings and bespoke book collections curated by London’s finest bookshops. The contrasting contemporary textiles, colours and furnishings pay tribute to 21st century grandeur.

Another addition to the property are two entirely new penthouse suites on the ninth floor featuring unobstructed floor-to-ceiling views of Hyde Park. Also inspired by the natural landscapes surrounding the property, the spaces offer luxurious upholstery and exotic marble table tops. Each penthouse suite also boasts its own private terrace.
